As the beef simmers gently, it absorbs the fragrant notes of garlic and the tangy sweetness of ripe tomatoes, creating a symphony of flavours that is simply irresistible.
Whether it’s a casual summer gathering or a cosy winter evening, this dish brings the warmth of Sicily to your table, inviting everyone to share in its authentic charm.
Prepare the tomato sauce following the traditional Sicilian recipe.
Transfer the sauce to a large non-stick pan and add a drizzle of Sicilian extra virgin olive oil. Warm it over low heat.
Add the sliced garlic cloves to the sauce. Place the beef slices in the pan with the tomato sauce.
Season with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a pinch of oregano.
Cook for about ten minutes, flipping the meat slices halfway through for even cooking. Add another pinch of oregano when flipping.
